Howdy, handy friends! The Answer Man here, and today we’re heading indoors to tackle a simple project that packs a big punch in style and function: installing floating shelves. Whether you’re looking to show off family photos, organize books, or create some sleek bathroom storage, floating shelves are a great DIY upgrade. With the right hardware and a few tricks, you can get a seamless, sturdy finish that looks like it was done by a pro.
First, decide where your shelves are going and what they’ll hold.
Make sure your wall surface is solid because drywall alone won’t hold up heavier loads without proper anchors.
Answer Man Tip: Studs are your best friend. Always try to mount at least one side of your shelf into a stud for maximum strength.
